The Southern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi was created by the last Grand Chapter at which the late illustrious J. Ernest Wilkins, Sr., presided. As a result of extensive study, the Grand Board of Directors, meeting in Kansas City, MO, in 1950, recommended that the Southeastern Province, then the most extensive province in Kappadom, comprising, as it did, the states of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida, be partitioned. At the same session of the Grand Chapter in Kansas City, a proposal to partition the Southwestern Province was defeated. After much debate and compromise was made whereby the Southwestern Province remained intact.... Learn more >>	Born in Christian County Kentucky, Diggs was a graduate of Indiana University, the birthplace of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He served as Grand Polemarch for the first six consecutive years of the Fraternity's existence. For this and other outstanding contributions to the Fraternity, he was awarded the Fraternity's first Laurel Wreath in December, 1924. Learn more >>
Major Announcements February 21, 2010 Greeting Brothers: It is with great enthusiasm that I am introducing the return of Kappas at the Kapitol. Kappas at the Kapitol gives brothers a unique opportunity to experience a day in the State Capitol building and meet brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi that serve in the Florida Legislature. There will be a Welcome Reception on Thursday, March 18th at 7:30pm, followed by the political summit, on Friday March 19th at 8:00am on the 22nd floor of the Capitol. Please wear your Red Kappa blazers to ensure that we have a strong presence. he Florida Conference of Black State Legislators is hosting their Annual Gala Black Tie Celebration on the evening of March 19th. The Officer Candidacy Form for elections to be held at the 60th Southern Province Council has been posted to our website. Officers to be elected include Senior Vice Polemarch, Junior Vice Polemarch/Alabama, Junior Vice Polemarch/Florida, Keeper of Records, Keeper of Exchequer, Strategus, Lieutenant Strategus, Undergraduate Board Members (2), Alumni Board Member (1), and Historian. Only undergraduates may apply for the Junior Vice Polemarch, Strategus, Lieutenant Strategus, and Undergraduate Board Member positions.
